Tooth Grinding (Bruxism)

Bruxism (tooth clenching) is a condition in which an individual clenches, grinds or presses his teeth together.

Individuals with bruxism (teeth grinding) may unconsciously clench their teeth while awake. During sleep, this habit is much more severe. While no treatment is needed at mild degrees, when it progresses, head and neck pain can be observed as a result of abrasion of the teeth and spasms of the chewing muscles. It can cause deformation of the jaw joints.

After the examination by a specialist physician, it is treated with night plates and/or botox applications applied to the jaw muscles.
